The goal should be to just get rid of bump stacks. However, Sen. Dianne Feinstein has other political motives. She will try to load the bill with other provisions which republicans will never vote for. Then when republicans vote against the bill, she will claim that republicans want to kill people with bump stocks.
Life is more fun, if you do not take it too seriously.
