    Navy Academy Graduation

Two graduates of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., penned an op-ed in The Baltimore Sun questioning President Trump's suitability to deliver the commencement speech to this year's graduating class of midshipmen on Friday.

I strongly suspect, that their career in the navy is about to end very abruptly. People in the military have freedom of speech, but it is limited somewhat by the UCMJ Article 34.
"Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

They might try to claim they weren't commissioned at the time, but I doubt that will fly.

They have kissed their professional military careers goodbye. If you talk -$@! about the CIC how will you react to unfavorable orders from your local commander?

The problem is that they have got a first class education at taxpayers expense. They will now most likely be hired by a left wing organization at a lot higher salary than what the military would have paid them.

    They need to pay.

I'm pretty sure if they do not fulfill their military service, they will pay back the costs of their education.

There is no provision so far as I know for students at any of the military academies to pay for their educations. All must be recommended by their U.S. congressman and both senators and I believe there is a one time fee of something like $2,500? for uniforms and such, but then its a free education.

These two idiots could be refused a commission for such subordination, however, and then be assigned as seaman recruits, i.e. the lowest rank possible in the Navy. And they should be. And if they exhibit more such insubordination, they should be court marshaled and issued dishonorable discharges that they will have to live with the rest of their lives.

I wish there was some way to keep these snowflakes out of the service altogether though. With maybe one or two exceptions, all the guys and gals in their 30's, 40's, 50's who have been in the service that I know all appreciate President Trump.

And they should. He is so much better than his predecessor.

Yep, they would have a debt to US Government. Cannot be discharged through bankruptcy:

    From Annie's link:
That if such person fails to complete the period of active duty specified in the
agreement, he or she will reimburse the United States for the amount specified by the Secretary of the Military Department concerned in accordance with the requirements of 10 U.S.C. 2005 and 37 U.S.C. 303a.
An obligation to repay the United States under this section is, for all purposes, a debt owed the United States. A discharge in bankruptcy under Title 11 U.S.C. does not discharge a person from such debt if the discharge order is entered less than 5 years after:
    (i) The date of the termination of the agreement or contract on which the debt is based; or
(ii) In the absence of such agreement or contract, the date of the termination of the service on which the debt is based.
